Come unto Christ - activities & handouts
10scriptures.pdf |
There are so many invitations in the scriptures to "Come Unto Christ" I have made a list of 10 that you can look over. I feel like the more we can use the scriptures when teaching and explaining concepts the more the youth will turn to the scriptures for answers. These scriptures (and many others) can be used to encourage the youth to Come Unto Christ. You can either present the scriptures to the youth, or give the girls a list, split them into groups, and let them look the scriptures up and share them with the rest of the girls. I want the girls to know how much the Savior loves them and longs for them to Come to Him.
You Are Invited To "Come Unto Christ"
I wanted to come up with an actual INVITATION that could be used when teaching "Come Unto Christ." I used this article from the YW General Presidency entitled "You Are Invited." If you haven't read it, it's a wonderful resource and a quick read! I also put together a short, 8 slide Power Point (download below) that visually breaks down this same article from the YW General Presidency.
**For those who have requested a Spanish version of the Power Point...Thank you to Nancy for translating! I have attached the Spanish version below! :)

Come Unto Christ

I wanted to take the scripture and try to "define" it a bit. Sometimes when I present things to the youth I forget to dissect it, to explain it, to give them a visual of what that really means for them. I created this image so I can show my YW, and talk about what each word means. To "Come" is a verb, it requires action and effort. The words are direct quotes from Sister Marriott and Sister Oscarson. The words next to "Unto" come from the dictionary. I used words from the definition of "toward." The words next to "Christ" came from lds.org.
I consider it a great blessing to work with the Young Women. Preparing lessons and teaching them truly strengthens my testimony. This scripture, as Sister Oscarson stated, "is at the very core of our gospel." I have attached both a JPEG and a PDF of the graphic. ;) |
