Parenthood is a Sacred Duty
*pictures are from the media files on lds.org. There were so many beautiful pictures of Mothers loving their children on lds.org. I thought it would be impactful to have a collage showing daily opportunities we have to show our love. It is so easy to get caught up in the craziness of this life. We are all so busy. This month's message is such a great reminder about what is truly important. Susan W. Tanner, former Young Women general president, taught: “Our Father in Heaven exemplifies the pattern we should follow. He loves us, teaches us, is patient with us, and entrusts us with our agency. … Sometimes discipline, which means ‘to teach,’ is confused with criticism. Children—as well as people of all ages—improve behavior from love and encouragement more than from fault-finding.” |
This quote from Sister Burton asks us to consider how often we INTENTIONALLY speak kind words to each other. I love this question. It inspires me to try harder. It inspires me to think about each of my family members individually and to think of something specific that they need to hear.
